Snooker is a cue sport that involves 15 red balls, six colored balls, and one white cue ball. At the beginning of the game, the red balls are set up in a triangular formation, the colored balls are positioned on their designated spots, and the cue ball starts inside the D, the half-moon area used for the opening break.
On each turn, players must first pocket a red ball, which is worth 1 point and is removed from the table upon being potted. After successfully pocketing a red, players must then aim for a colored ball, scoring points based on its value: yellow 2, green 3, brown 4, blue 5, pink 6, and black 7. Once a colored ball is pocketed, it returns to its original position unless that spot is obstructed. Players alternate between red and colored balls until all red balls have been cleared, with the game indicating the next target ball.
If you hit the wrong ball first or pocket an incorrect ball, a foul is committed. Your opponent is awarded at least 4 points and your turn ends. If the incorrectly pocketed ball is worth more than 4 points, your opponent receives that higher value instead.
